The line in the devotional that stood out to me today was the line that stated that a love relationship with God is the single most important factor in our lives. As much as I know that God is the highest priority and the most important factor, it is easy to neglect and forget the fact that God should be the most important factor in my life. Today was just another reminder of that importance and why it should be the most important factor. For without God, we are just lost in our lives. I pray that God would always be the most important factor in my life and that I would be able to have an authentic love relationship with Him. I do not want to forget nor neglect that relationship in my life and I pray that God would help me to always maintain that and to further grow it in my life.
In today’s reflection, I’m reminded that we were created to have a loving relationship with God. He first loved us and we are called to love Him with all of our hearts, souls, and minds. And as a response, we’re choosing life and obedience daily, as we experience His infinite love in many different ways.
The statement that stood out to me the most from today’s reading is “Everything in your Christian life, everything about knowing Him and experiencing Him, everything about knowing His will depends on the quality of your love relationship with God.” Sometimes when we get too busy with things in our life, we often forget how great God loves us. John 3:16 said: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” Because Jesus loves us, he died for our sins. Furthermore, God seeks to have a loving relationship with us. He is the one who initiates this relationship with us. He created us in order for us to have fellowship with Him. That is the purpose of our life. If we can’t define our relationship with God by saying we love Him with all of our hearts, we should seek the Holy Spirit to help us develop a wholehearted love for Him. The quality of our love relationship with God determines the quality of our Christian life. God intended for us to have a loving relationship with Him. As a result, everything God says and does is done with love. The importance of a loving relationship with God outweighs all other factors in our lives.
“What is the one thing God wants from you? He wants you to love Him with all your being. Your experiencing God depends on your having this relationship of love.” I’m in awe of God’s love for me, not that i am worthy of it or have done anything to deserve it, but that He created me to be fellowship with Him and has paid the ultimate price to demonstrate His love. Romans 8:39 drives the point home for me “[nothing] will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Chris Jesus our Lord.” if nothing is supposed to separate me from God’s love, then i can’t let my own selfish desires determine my ways and keep me from a personal relationship with Him – i must let God lead me according to His will because He’s worthy and, the fact that’s more comforting, He loves me. Thank you Lord for your clear, glorious display of love for me even though i am unworthy. please help me to love You more and more each day, because You loved me first, as i experience you in a real and personal way
From Ciara: The most meaningful statement I read today was God created me for a love relationship with Him. Everything God says and does is an expression of love. A love relationship with God is more important than anything else. God wants us to know that our Christian life depends on the quality of our love relationship with Him. Dear Lord, thank you for this bible study today. Thank you for everything you do for me. And please help us get better into knowing you. -Amen
Tonight’s reading was interesting it showed me how often I get caught up in doing God’s work but when doing so I think I’m spending time with him but in reality I’m not really spending that much time with him if that makes sense. But yea often times I get caught in doing God’s work that I forget why I’m doing it or who I’m doing it for.
Heavely father I pray God that I maintain my relationship with you in my life and even the times I don’t feel it i pray God you keep a steadfast spirit in me. Amen
