Sections 4 & 5 stood out to me today. The sections highlight John 14:6, “I am the way and the truth and the life.” The line that stood out most to me was “Follow Jesus one day at a time.”
I tend to worry and ask God to show me His will for me along with a set course because that is easier and more comfortable. But God is THE way. This past year has taught me that God’s plan is never my own. I may not yet understand the circumstances in my life, but I pray that I can seek Him one day at a time and hold onto the faith that He will reveal to me His will. I pray that I will seek God & His way daily letting go of my worries and need for control. May I be kept in the center of God’s will in my life.
The statement in the study that stood out to me the most was to follow and trust God consistently day by day rather than wanting a direct answer from him. I find myself overwhelmed not having immediate answers or solutions to my troubles as well as worrying about what is to come the next day. Through this lesson i can trust and take in God one day at a time without worrying about future outcomes.
Lord I pray that you’ll allow me to let my worries down and not hesitate to follow u in every step of the day. You not only know the plans you have for me but you ARE the path that I take. I pray that i’ll be able to relieve my anxiousness all up to you and abide in you always.
“Jesus is your map” – Jesus will lead me to God’s will. Jesus is the way. As I listen to God, I need to respond in obedience to do what He calls me to do in order to experience more of Him and being in His will. Reflecting honestly, I deeply desire to obey Him but sometimes I’m not willing because of fear and not knowing the outcome makes me uncomfortable.
Lord Jesus, You are my map. Only You can lead me to Your will because You know the best way. Help me God to respond in obedience even when I doubt Your directions. I find myself hesitant to continue walking forward but I pray that I will trust you fully and confidently in You one day at a time.
The verse that stuck out to me today is Matthew 6:33-34 which tells us to seek first God’s kingdom and righteousness. It was reminder that I need to always seek Him first and not to get caught up in the priorities of the world. I pray that God would help me to always seek His kingdom first and to have the faith that all the other things I may need will be provided according to God’s will…may God always determine my steps.
“I am the way and the truth and the life,” (John 14:6).
This verse, along with the statement in the book, “as you follow Jesus one day at a time, He will keep you in the center of God’s will,” really resonated with me most in today’s reading. It seems to me that often times, as the book points out, that we would rather have the way “mapped out” for us, knowing each step ahead of us beforehand. But as many of us know, life can be full of surprises, and unexpected twists and turns. But when we trust in Jesus, and follow Him one day at a time, we begin to see that He will lead us where He wants us to be. That requires us to trust, since we typically are unable to see which way to go in advance, and will not always be sure of what lies around the corner on the road ahead.
Lord, we know that You are “the way, the truth, and the life.” Many times I am not sure what it is that You are doing, but I know that You are good and faithful to fulfill Your promises. Even when it hurts, and I don’t understand, help me Lord to just trust in You, and let You lead me in the way everlasting.
I hope to have a life transforming encounter with God through this study series. I’m encouraged by this verse in John 15:5 about remaining in God and Him in me and I can bear fruit because apart from Him I can do nothing. I pray to continue to trust God daily even in the midst of the busyness and season of challenges. I pray for our church community to do the same. May we experience Him through this study in such a transformative way that we are no longer same and more like Him.
The Bible verse that resonated in me the most is “I am the way and the truth and the life” John 14:6. There is only one right way to live, which is the life where God is the the center. I learned that I need to learn to follow Him one day at a time.
P: Dear God, please help me to have a complete trust in you and a strong faith that You will go with me and tell me what to do one step at a time. I don’t need to know a complete detailed of the road map. Please teach me to trust that you are my “Map”and I will experience a life-transforming encounter with You. In the name of Jesus Christ. ?
Wow. This first one was honestly already pretty good. I learned that I need to trust God everyday. I don’t need to worry about the things of the future or if those things are a part of God’s will. I just need to be faithful and obedient right where God has placed me and He will reveal the rest of the things to me in my faithfulness.
God. I pray that I’ll be able to lay down my worries of the future such as where am I going to work, what ministry am I going to do, who I’m going to marry, and various things that concern me. May I live in contentness and follow you daily everyday trusting that You will guide me and reveal to me these different aspects of my life.
