I agree with the book that reading the Bible is a core essential habit for a Christian. It makes sense that we cannot know God’s voice unless we know his word so it only makes sense that we must read the Bible. I tried and failed many times to read through the entire Bible. I probably started 5 to 10 plans every year with the intention of reading through the Bible. When RP started the read the Bible in two years plan a couple of years ago, I was determined to do it. The first year was difficult and I constantly would fall behind and catch up and repeat the pattern. The second year I was finally able to embed the habit and finally succeeded in not falling behind. This year I decided I would do a slightly different reading plan of reading through the Bible again in a little under two years. I hope to continuously read through the Bible for the rest of my life.
