I need the Holy Spirit’s power in my complete trust in God in this season of job searching. It has been tough to say the least to see where I’ll end up in the future, but knowing God has endured the world and came out victorious, I have no doubt He will deliver, it’s just really a matter of time and patience to wait for Him.

I would like to reach out to my younger brothers in the VAY community to disciple them and lead them into following Christ, especially in a world where the world is actively trying to pull everyone away from the fold of God from its temptations to offering to a “good, rich future if you just work hard enough.” I was discipled by many great leaders who have gone before me and I want to extend the same level of compassion, drive, and love for my younger brothers who could be struggling to find their identity in Christ.

In my silent time of prayer, I was calm and at peace knowing God has won and He will only continue winning over and over, as long as my faith & trust is in Him. I will hold on to that victory in this season of life.

Father, I praise You for who You are, for coming and dying for my sin so that I could be saved, even though I am unworthy of it all. Help me place my trust in You more and more each day and come to You empty handed ready to be filled up with Your truth and strength. Allow me to have patience in You and what on You and trust in this process right now, amen.

(from Charlie)
I learn to rely on the Spirit more and more since with His guidance I’m calm and at peace. One of my long time prayer is for peace. Just be at peace with whatever happens. I feel that opening myself to His words leave me at peace.

Paying attention to the Spirit and being able to recognize His voice is key to walking with God and sharing in His work. I could be the mouse that got excited approaching the bridge and just rushed ahead of the Elephant to end up on the other side then looking back to see the elephant deciding to cross the river at a different location. This was me doing what I think is best instead of following the Father lead. I could be the mouse walking along side the elephant only to notice a tasty morsel and sidetrack to eat not noticing the elephant has crossed the bridge and long gone. This is me getting distracted by life and not paying attention to the Lord’s work. I could be the mouse refusing to cross the rickety bridge because it looks unsafe only to watch the elephant crossing safely. That’s me letting fear leads me instead of trusting in the Lord.

I see many ways in which I can fail if I don’t clearly hear the Spirit and trust in the Father. I would like to serve as I said yesterday in whatever capacity the Father sees fit as long as He allows me to share in His works for my own growth.

Lord, I want to serve. I don’t want to do it to make myself feel good or to get praises or out of a sense of duty or obligation. I want to serve so that I can be with You and share in Your work for Your glory because then I can be closer to You. I don’t want to rush ahead or fall behind or be side tracked. I pray that You keep me in mind and nudge me when I go sideway and pull me back when I rush ahead and push me forward when I fall behind. You promise to always be with me and I know You will be faithful with that promise.

1. In my life, right now, I probably need the Holy Spirit most when dealing with my wife and kids. I need to have more patience and grace with them. I need the Spirit to remind me to be a better model of Christ for them.

2. I honestly just want to be able to spend more quality time with my family, and help them grow in their faith. I feel like a lot of my time is spent on doing daily tasks to get through the day.

3. Dear Lord, please help me to find peace in the daily grind of life. Please help me to appreciate the hours in the day that you’ve given, and to spend them wisely.

From Thao

I resound with everything Cyndi said in her message. I too need the power of the HS to stand up for what is right/just and also to speak and share about the gospel to others without fear or hesitation.

I would like to see the workings of God transform each person I reach. I would also like to grow in a deeper communion with God to clearly hear Him in what He asks of me.

Thank you God for giving each of us the HS to empower and guide us. Please help me listen to the HS prompting and He guides my life and show me the power that is much greater than my own strength. I want to rely on Your power in my life because Your power has life!

1. I really need the Holy Spirit’s power when it comes to being the President of Cru at FVHS. I realize that I wasn’t being engaging enough with the members at Cru and that I don’t really know anyone there.
2. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, I would like to be more open to talking to the members there and be a part of their lives. I want to be able to humble myself, and have good conversations with the people there.
3. Dear God, I lack a lot of things as a President of Cru at FVHS. There’s so much people there I should know, but I don’t. Lord, help me to be more engaging, to have more conversations with them, and to be willing to talk to them, and open up my heart to them. You taught me about humility on Sunday and how Jesus lowered Himself to have relationships with the lowly people, so please, give me the heart to lower myself and actually be part of the members’ lives. Continue to work through me, oh God. I pray all these things in Jesus Name, Amen.

I need the Holy Spirit’s power in giving me wisdom and guidance in parenting, strength for when I am at my lowest, power to resist my old nature of selfishness and pride.

I like this “The power of the Holy Spirit comes to us in many ways. He gives us spiritual gifts, which we will talk more about later. He also strengthens us when we are weak, giving us the fortitude to press on when we are overwhelmed. He gives us wisdom, guiding us through difficult moral decisions. He also orchestrates situations to enable people to see God’s work in their lives. He gives us words to say to someone in need of encouragement or help. He is the One who intercedes for us when we pray and can’t even think of words to say. Because our Father knows it is impossible for us to serve Him in our own strength, or shake that bridge in our own power, He has sent the HolySpirit to give us all the power we need. The Holy Spirit is our key to serving God in any significant way.”

I would like to put my hope in the Holy Spirit for my kids to have a relationship in Jesus. To build up faith and trust in daily living. For gentle words that will build up people. To serve God in a significant way…relying on his guidance and trusting in his plans and timing.

God. You reminded to trust in him. God you love my kids even more than can comprehend. Forgive me when I rely on my own strength and giving myself credit when “ the real mover and shaker” is you. Help me to trust in your plans for my kids to build up their faith. Teach me to be an encouragement to others in my words and actions. Give me strength and fortitude during challenging times and crossroads. May my life be a testament of your power and goodness. Amen.

I need the power of the Holy Spirit in my life when I am about to act on my desires. I believe the power of the Holy Spirit can deepen my connection with God. I believe I can make time to face Him. Dear God, I ask that through the Holy Spirit I will be able to remember my connection to you and what I have learned since I started connecting with you. Thank you for allowing me to walk in your heart as I rely on the power of the Holy Spirit.

I believe I need the Holy Spirit in my life when it comes to work. Sometimes I still feel like I am lost and don’t know if this is where I really want to be headed in life. I would like to accomplish furthering my career with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. I hope that the Holy Spirit will give me the strength and patience so that I may do what I necessary. After sitting in silence and listening to God he has told me to continue to work hard and further my education in the field. I pray that I may find my place in this world so that I may help others find theirs and give to those in need.

I need the strength and fortitude from the Holy Spirit during times when I am stressed and overwhelmed. Lately, I’ve been asking God for His peace and learning to completely surrender my worries, burdens, and anxious thoughts unto Him. Through the Lord’s Holy Spirit, I hope to accomplish reading more of scripture while developing a deeper understanding. I pray and would like to experience more of the Holy Spirit’s wisdom in helping me understand God’s Word in a new way.
Lord, I thank you for gifting us with Your Holy Spirit. It is amazing to know that the same power that raised Jesus from the dead, is living and working inside of us. I pray that You would reveal more of the Holy Spirit in my life, that it may be at work in areas where I need it.
