Knowing Him 50: Obedient Leadership
Introduction Peter leads a large group of disciples to an isolated (perhaps secretive) meeting where Jesus will once again give them their marching orders. Then they make their way back to Jerusalem to await the coming Holy Spirit as the movement switches into its...

I’m not sure what my “spiritual” gift might be. I know what I’m passionate about. I want to learn and understand and when I learn something or understand something new, I am very excited to share it. I can’t wait to explore new ideas with anyone willing to listen 🙂. I am a nerd and proud of it. Once someone said that the difference between a nerd and a geek is that a geek is deeply interested in one thing where a nerd is interested in many things. I’m not sure if that’s accurate but in that case I’m geeky about a few things and nerdy about many things. If passion & values drive purpose then maybe there is someway for me to use my passion for learning and knowledge to serve. Maybe my calling is teaching because when I was in college I taught as a TA and I love it. I love finding new ways to explain a concept and when a student figure it out and I see the light click, I find joy in that! Maybe that’s my calling.
I think the Lord is calling me to first serve within my local province first and when I show that I am ready then He will give me more assignments. I patiently wait for that day and I listen carefully for opportunities to serve in whatever capacity. It doesn’t have to be grand and it doesn’t have to be acknowledged – I only want to be useful – that is NOT how I used to think!
I feel that my “gift” best fit in the “family and education” area. I will work toward that but if He calls me to do something else, I would do my best.
Father you have gifted me with an inquisitive mind and a desire to learn (unfortunately You didn’t choose to give me good memories ☹️ – but You made up for it with a good intuitive mind so I’m grateful for that) and to impart learning. I hope that I’m seeing Your purpose correctly and if so I will look for sign that You want me to be serve in whatever capacity. Thank You for the gift you have bestow and I will strive to make use of it for Your service and Your glory.
1. This year, I’ve noticed that I have the ability to speak in front of people and preach the Word of God to them. I remember I was sharing a message to GLA about what I learned and experienced from Hoi Dong and I started preaching like a Pastor and it then showed my potential to lead a church some day and other people thought that I was speaking like a Mục Sư.
2. I feel like there’s a possibility of me being a leader in ministry, going to seminary, and possibly becoming a preacher. Seeing how God has given me the ability to evangelize at Cru and FOMO, I believe that He wants me to continue pursuing ministry.
3. I believe that I can contribute to Church/Mission and Media/Arts. I see myself more involved with the Great Comission through FOMO and Cru, and I believe that it could help me contribute to the Church and Mission. I am also part of the band in my school and I also play the drums at times for Church, so I believe that I can contribute to the society with the art of music.
4. Dear God, Thank You for helping me grow into the leader I am today. Thank You for giving me the ability to speak in front of people and preach your Word and continue to help me in that area so that I will be a better leader. Thank You for giving me the ability to play the drums and and the Trumpet. I pray that You could continue to help me use my gifts for Your kingdom and Your glory. I pray all these things in Jesus Name, Amen.
I’m not exactly sure what spiritual gifts I have but I do know that I find it easy meeting new people and creating many bonds/relationships, overall being in community. I think this “gift” can help me in my upcoming job where I would constantly be establishing close relationships with a lot of store managers I’ll have to work with andIn these relationships I could have the chance to spread God’s word. I still struggle for what purpose God has for me, and I hope that I’m on the path to his plans he has for me. I feel at best in terms of network and relationship aspects and pray to the Lord to guide me in more contribution to other sectors of society. Father thank you for the spiritual gifts and I pray that you continue to mold me and use me in your will.
I think my main spiritual gift is knowledge, coming up tomorrow for the youth camp meeting. I think being a leader might be a good opportunity to share that knowledge that I have built up over the years. I think I am still trying to figure out my sense and place in the world, but reading about the 6 sectors I think business and economics really speaks to me. Climbing the corporate ladder is something I am ambitious about, but I need to realign my purpose for the climb. It should not be about prestige and money, but rather to try to reflect the values and ethics in business. Dear God thank you for all the gifts you have given me in life, one thing I think God has blessed me with is personability, I think I have the gift of speaking to others and relating to people through humor. I don’t know how I can apply this gift, but I ask that you show me the way to do so. Other than that thank you for blessing me in my career and I hope as advance I don’t lose sight of the true purpose which is to serve Jesus and spread his values in the work that I do.
I believe I have the gift of hospitality, which involves creating a warm and inviting atmosphere in my home. I enjoy welcoming guests, offering them food, and ensuring they feel relaxed in a comfortable, family-like environment. My gift of hospitality create spaces for fellowship, encouragement, support, ultimately helping others to grow in their faith and relationship with God. It creates a community that people can connect to one another. My hospitality contributes to the church events, the church fellowship, make church event more enjoyable 😂.
Heavenly Father,
I am grateful for the gift of hospitality you have blessed me with, which I have used for many years to welcome and serve others. However, as I grow older, I find my energy waning, making it challenging to extend hospitality as I once did. I humbly ask for your guidance and grace to discover and develop new gifts that align with this stage of my life. Grant me wisdom and discernment to serve you and others effectively in new ways. Thank you for your faithfulness and provision.
Amen.
Danny
Some of the spritual gifting that I have been receiving is blessing from others. It similar to the last topic and blessing for me help me push through and trying my best from any further future situation. I could use the term of blessing for others and helping them that knowing I will always be supporting them and alway wish them luck. I don’t know what God have for me and what he wanted to see during my period of time but I feel like he wanted to see the best out of me and try to do the same to other that wanted to have the same experience of better life. I see myself experiencing those term as i’m slowly building up to become a better person and know what my goal is which is important but at the end of the day, it take patience. I pray to God I would use those gift that I personally know and will pass along to others.

I have a natural tendency to plan, organize, and pick up on the details that may have been missed. I think I gravitate towards teaching because I like to learn and people often come to me to ask me to help them. I’m still praying about the needs of the church/community and how I can be a part of the solution.
I feel my purpose is to disciple the young believers and to walk with them. Many of the gals that I talk to lack a mentor in their lives. With these gals, I can build relationships, serve them food, mentor them, and share about God to them. It’s a commitment and sacrifice that I’m willing to take.
This is quite a complex question to wrestle with. With what I know, family is a very high priority for me. I think everything starts with the family. There are many sectors that I can use my gifts for, but I want to focus my limited time and resources to where God is channeling my skills/gift/resources to.
Thank you, God, for not only the knowledge and skills you have given me but also the gifts of the HS to do your work here on earth. I want to use your gifts wisely in your kingdom work with the time that I have been given.
1) One of my spiritual gifts is the opportunity to connect with the community and meet new people. I believe that this gift is very important and precious to receive because, since I accepted Jesus, I have met a lot of wonderful people and gradually come to understand what love is and what the purpose of my life is.
2) I believe He wants me to connect with my family, especially my parents. One part of today’s reading mentioned the importance of passing down His Word to the next generation, but I feel like He is trying to tell me that I need to share God’s Word with my family/ parents.
3) I don’t think I have been contributing enough in any of the sections, but I would like to contribute more to my family and education because these are the sections I am most familiar with.
4) Dear Heavenly Father,
I am grateful for the spiritual gifts you have given me, even though I may not have fully realized their potential. I am eager to use them to benefit my community and serve you better. I humbly ask for your guidance and assistance in discerning and developing these gifts so that I can use them to the best of my ability. Please give me the opportunity to revitalize my life and use my gifts to honor and glorify you.
Thank you, Amen.
I believe spiritual gifts I have is in teaching and service. I could use my gifts within the church, through my secular work, and in my family. The purpose that I think that God has for how He wants me to use it is in the intersection of my work and my faith, where I’m able to minister to others through my actions. God, thank you for the gifts that you’ve given me and the people that you’ve placed in my life to use these gifts for.
