Dear Christian Life Hackers,
As we power down our hacking devices and stow away our gear, it’s time to reflect on the journey we’ve embarked on together. Over the past ten weeks, we’ve delved into the Epistle of James, we’ve been through the wringer, the washer, and the spiritual spin cycle together. We’ve dug into the Epistle of James like a dog after a bone, and we’ve come out the other side with a treasure trove of Christian life hacks.
From finding joy in trials (who knew that was possible?) to taming the tongue (still got a few bite marks to prove it), from resolving conflicts (without pulling out our hair) to praying effectively (and not just for parking spaces), we’ve navigated the wild seas of faith and come out the other side with our spiritual hair still intact. We’ve become Christian Life Hackers, equipped with the divine toolkit and the know-how to live a life that pleases God, reflects the love of Christ to others, and doesn’t involve running around like a headless chicken.
But just because we’re closing the book on James doesn’t mean we’re hanging up our hacking hats. Oh no, we’ve got a whole spiritual battlefield out there, and we’re just getting started. The spiritual battlefield is a harsh and brutal place, but with prayer as our foundation and the support of our prayer squad, we can succeed in our mission. We’ve learned to show gentleness, speak truth in love, and seek restoration. We’ve learned to be prayed up and prepared for the challenges that lie ahead.
As we say our goodbyes, I want to say a massive thank you for joining me on this hacking adventure. Your comments, insights, and occasional virtual tomatoes have made this journey one for the books. I hope you’ll keep these hacks in your back pocket, ready to whip out at a moment’s notice.
Now, as we part ways, I’d love to hear from you. What was your favorite hack from our journey through James? How have these hacks changed your daily walk? And as we head into summer, what’s your game plan for keeping the faith?
Remember, Christian Life Hackers, our mission is never over. Let’s keep living out our faith, hacking our way through life’s challenges with the wisdom and guidance of God’s Word.
What’s your biggest takeaway from our journey through James? How will you apply these life hacks in your daily life? Share your experience and personal commitment for the summer.
Farewell, Christian Life Hackers, and may your faith be as strong as your coffee! Join us again in the Fall Bible Reading Challenge when we are looking for the Gospel in the life of David. And if you are an aspiring writer, drop me a note so we can start collaborating! ~PB
My biggest takeaway from this devotional study of James has been the power of persistency and trusting on God no matter what. I just continually learn that by being persistent and keeping at the task, I will eventually get better and really it just needs to start somewhere, whether it’s prayer or reading or studying Scripture. Going through these 10 weeks with the brothers and sisters in the faith has granted a new perspective of teamwork and quiet time spent with God daily. I hope everyone here and me keep up this practice of daily devotion so that not only our own relationship grow beneficial but we would become a light to others as well.
I took away many things from this James study. I really like the book of James because it is a very practical read and has helped to mold me in how I think about life. The biggest takeaway is definitely the section that talked about prayer. Like I have said before, I know I need to pray more and it is definitely one of my goals. I would also like to be more specific in my prayers as well.
To be very honest I’m kinda bummed this challenge is ending. But what I got from this a heart full of joy and peace. This challenge has reminded me to keep it simple. It reminded me that I need to get back my relationship with my loving God, no matter busy I am I need to prioritize my morning medication with my God. I need to pray wholeheartedly praying for kids, friends, community, and anyone that I encounter that needs a little prayer. I need to give praise from big or the smallest things that God has Blessed me with. Everything that I have today a shelter for me, Joshua, peace, joy, relationship with people I love such as family, friends, church, community, and most importantly what I struggled with for a very long time, is my sobriety. It’s all by his mercy and grace. I will continue my morning medication with my God, this spiritual high that I’m on bring tears of joy to me. I want to be able to share my story with those that are still suffering that there is a loving God that loves you and will carry you through as long as you have faith in him. Thank you so much Jenney for pushing me to do this🥺😘 Thank you Bumble for putting so much time to send out our daily devotion for this challenge. Thank you everyone in this group for sharing and listening. To me this isn’t a challenge it is a Blessing that brought my relationship even closer to God. All I had to do was read his word. I’m going to keep it simple. 🙏🏻❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I would have to say that there have been several major takeaways for me going through this study in James🙂 The reminder to “be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger” is always helpful. Also, the distinction that patience is a discipline rather than merely a virtue keeps me mindful of the fact that it is something I can work on. But most of all, I would have to say that the portion on prayer renewed my commitment to be a person that prays, and prays with others. Thank you to all of you for all the awesome insight into God’s Word through this study, and let’s keep being “doers of the Word!”
I would say that the book of James teaches me how to pray properly and effectively. We all know about the power of prayer, but sometimes, due to various reasons like being busy, work, or laziness, we neglect to spend time studying God’s word and praying. I also agree with Kimbo that Ann and Mimi truly inspire me when they agree to participate and remain committed until today. I hope that they can learn more about God’s love and His word throughout the book of James.
