But before we dive into the specific hacks that James has in store for us, let’s start with a quick overview of the book itself. It was written by James, also known as “James the Just”. He was a leader in the early Christian church and the half-brother of Jesus. In his letter, he addresses it to “the twelve tribes in the Dispersion,” (James 1:1) which likely refers to Jewish Christians living outside of Palestine. These believers were likely facing persecution and hardship, and James writes to encourage and instruct them in their faith.
