Faith Works Out

What’s up, spiritual sweat-soakers!

Welcome back to our Christian Life Hacks series! Today, we’ll dive into the fascinating relationship between faith and works, and discover how they are like a tree and its fruits in our walk with Christ. Are you ready to branch out?

James 2:14 sets the stage with a stirring question: “What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them?” This question nudges us to examine the authenticity of our faith and the impact of our salvation.

Now, let’s clear things up: faith is absolutely crucial! It’s the bedrock of our relationship with God and the starting point of our spiritual journey. But, imagine faith as a gym membership card you’ve been carrying around, yet never actually breaking a sweat inside the gym. A mere claim of faith without accompanying works may indicate that our salvation isn’t genuine or our faith isn’t as deep as we think it is. And nobody wants to be the gym nut bragging about their gym membership without ever breaking a sweat, right?

Picture faith and works as a tree and its fruits. In the dead of winter, it might be difficult to tell if a tree is alive or not. But when its season arrives, and it blooms with an abundance of fruits, we know without a doubt that it’s a lively tree. Similarly, when our faith is genuine, it naturally produces good works, like a fruitful tree in its prime.

In this metaphor, faith is the life-giving force that sustains the tree, while works are the fruits that grow from it, showcasing the tree’s vitality. A tree that bears no fruit may not be as healthy or alive as it appears. Likewise, a faith that doesn’t lead to works could indicate that our salvation isn’t as real as we think it is.

So, spiritual sweat-soakers, are you ready to embrace the whole package of faith and works? Let’s embark on this enlightening journey together and experience the transformative power of a faith that is both grounded and active in our lives, blossoming with the fruits of good works.

What fruits in your life could you point to as the results of saving faith in Christ?

Happy Monday. The fruits in my life today is my salvation, freedom, peace, sobriety, friends, community, my family, and the love of Jesus Christ. I will continue to praise God for his Blessings and pray for him to guide me through any challenges I may face and focus on the Blessings. 💕🙏🏻 have a good day everyone

The fruits in my life that are the results of my faith are many.  I have seen fruit in the relationships I have been able to establish due to my faith.  One of these relationships in fact, led me to meeting my wife since it was through a bearing of fruit in serving at my previous church which ultimately led me to her.  I have also been blessed to have had great servant leaders in my life growing up and I know that because of them I have a relationship with God which is a fruit of their serving.  I hope that I am able to have the same influence in being able to produce fruit in serving in the college group.

Hey everyone Happy Monday guys… Every time I go over this question it is with out a doubt the Love and feeling the Lord has started to fill my heart with… So many years of emptiness and anger has completely ran my life, it is a process that started with surrender and faith in his process. Iam truly forever grateful for the Love and Patience of you all… Fruit I can eat all day till my last day…

One fruit in my life that I can point to is my relationships with those that love the Lord. I am blessed to have grown up in the church, being nurtured and brought up in God’s love. If it weren’t for them, I believe my life would be completely different. I am grateful that a handful of them are still around, being able to fellowship and see how God continues to work through us.

The fruits in my life are love, happiness, family, community, etc. As we learned from the story of Rahab yesterday, faith without action cannot bring us salvation. I pray God to help me keep learning His word and apply them in every circumstances of my life.
