The reading today for the most part wasnt applicable, at least for now. Some really good takeaways though were normalizing having spiritual conversations and asking her what God is doing in her life. Once you’re married, you’re a unit. You can’t separate what God’s doing in your life or her life. I loved what the author said about asking his wife “what promises have you made to God” and “what is God doing in your life”. God help me find someone, as well as BE someone, who will prioritize You in our relationship and work together to follow and obey you.
Today is a pretty cool lesson despite it’s calling me out how single I am 🥲. But I learned that being one flesh between a couple is not about being coexisted, but being one. You share all the experiences together with your significant other and God’s plan for the other person will for sure affect your life. I like it when the author says to ask spiritual questions to the other person. And hopefully the other person will help point out the things you missed when you’re sharing your experience with God. I think having another person that you can spend your life with and together experiencing God is pretty cool. I don’t rush to have one as I trust in God’s timing and His plan for me. I pray that you would help me to set my eyes to you everyday and one day if I ever got into a relationship, to put you as the center of my relationship with the other person
This devotion is so comforting to me because I have been experiencing the blessings of doing ministries together with Bumble. It’s very important to marry someone who has the same faith, same goal, same mind, same heart for the Kingdom. It’s not a one day thing. It’s a process, the faith process of following God everyday, the grace and mercy of God when you need it. However, the nice thing is in this faith journey we are doing it together as a couple. The thing I lack is praying for my spouse. This devotion reminds me much of that how I am not diligent in praying and I need to focus and be diligent about it.
God created marriage for the purpose to demonstrate his love for us and to glorify him. The idea of “one flesh” means one obedience as two work to strive to grow together. It’s interesting to see that when God is calling on one of the person in a relationship, He is also calling out to his or her partner. In marriage that glorifies God, couple should be encouraging each other to better follow God and make sacrifices if necessary for making adjustments towards where God is pointing at
From Ciara:
Minister together as a couple. Marriage is God’s joining together man and a women to create a union through which He can accomplish His purposes and to be glorified.
Dear Lord, help them to remember and me to remember that marriage is you joining together man and a women to create a union through which you can accomplish your purposes and to be glorified. And that the couples have to minister together as a couple. -Amen
