If God intends for you to serve in a particular capacity, the Head, Jesus Christ, can bring the rest of the body to recognize that.

“No member can say of Any other member, “I don’t need you.” Apart from the other members of the church (the body) you will not be able to experience the fullness of life God intends for you.” Oh God, you are speaking to me through this book. As a member of RP, I really need to step up and be integrated with my brothers and sisters. As much as I want to run away and hide, God I’m reminded that I cannot function without the church. I pray that I learn to lean on the church. I pray that I have willingness to serve others and you. Use me to grow in ministry and challenge me to reach out to others that don’t know you.
God has a specific purpose each person in the church and I believe that to be true after reading these few chapters these past few days. This my first time being at a new Church that wasn’t part of my highschool so I’m still learning about everything and where God will want me. But I was able to relate this to another part in my life. I was definitely prideful in where I wanted to serve instead of seeing where God wanted me to serve. But before I committed to going to anther state a coach of mine told me to remember that God can use you anywhere and mission trips don’t have to be far away in order to be doing God’s work. So that really stuck with me and I know I’m not serving the church but rn I feel like I’m serving God by coaching. Lord let me see where you might lead me to help church. Amen.
“In Gods kingdom how you do something is more important than what you do.”
I like that line because I feel its true. Im learning that growing with people is important than the results when you’re in ministry. People are important, all members of the body are precious. I should learn how to care for them and focus on that. Rather than just focus on results, at the end of the day God’s will will be done.
I understand God’s will for my church when I listen to the whole body express what it is experiencing in the life of that body. This statement stood out to me the most in today’s study as it made me realize that I must become more aware and involved in the spiritual lives of my brothers and sisters rather than only developing surface-level relationships with them. It is important to listen to the whole body’s experience (or lack thereof) with God because the entire body will miss the fulfillment of life God provides for the church when a single member is missing or not functioning as God designed.
