The lowest of slaves will he be to his brothers.\u201d <sup>26<\/sup>He also said, \u201cBlessed be the Lord, the God of Shem! May Canaan be the slave of Shem. <sup>27<\/sup>May God extend the territory of Japheth; may Japheth live in the tents of Shem, and may Canaan be his slave.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Ephesians 3:6 (NIV84)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><sup>6<\/sup>This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Out of a scene of family shame and brokenness, Noah speaks words that feel heavy with destiny, words that will shape the future of the world. It\u2019s a raw, painful moment. The family unit that survived the flood is now fractured by sin. Yet, in this moment, God gives Noah a glimpse of His redemptive plan, a blueprint for the future woven right into the fabric of his broken family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">The prophecy sketches out three destinies. Through his son Shem, a special spiritual inheritance will flow\u2014a unique relationship with &#8220;the LORD, the God of Shem.&#8221; This is the line through which God\u2019s covenant promises will be carried. Meanwhile, his other son, Japheth, is promised vast expansion and success in the world. He will be mighty and numerous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">But here lies the beautiful mystery: Japheth, for all his strength, will find his true home &#8220;in the tents of Shem.&#8221; Picture that for a moment. To live in someone else\u2019s tent means you are a guest, an outsider who has been welcomed in. It means finding shelter and belonging where you least expect it. The prophecy foretells a great paradox: the powerful, successful, and expanding peoples of the world will ultimately find their spiritual life not through their own achievements, but by being welcomed into the spiritual family of the seemingly smaller, less worldly line of Shem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">This ancient promise finds its stunning fulfillment in the gospel. For centuries, God\u2019s presence dwelt uniquely with Israel, the &#8220;tents of Shem.&#8221; But the plan was never for those tents to be exclusive. Through the Messiah, Jesus, God threw open the tent flaps to the entire world. As the Apostle Paul writes, the great secret is that now, people from every nation are &#8220;heirs together,&#8221; welcomed into the same family. The &#8220;tents of Shem&#8221; have become the Church of Jesus Christ, a home for anyone, whether Jew or Gentile, who seeks refuge in Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Reflect, Share &amp; Prayer:<\/strong> The gospel is the story of God welcoming us outsiders into His own tent, His family. How has experiencing God&#8217;s welcome changed you?
