Being in a group will enhance my experience by having people to help me grow and growing together. Vice Versa. I believe it is good to have people that you can count on to push you and motivate you to commit to the journey. Not only make it more fun but over the course you will get to understand your friends and family more. I hope to contribute my dedication in learning more about the lord and where my spiritual level stands and winning the challenge. Have a great day everyone!

(from Charlie)
Regarding today discussion. When I first started with the Saturday morning Starbucks group I was amazed at what everyone was willing to share about their past and present sins. In any other social groups the tendency is to put your best forward (look at Facebook where everything is always rosy) but when you get a group of Christians together it’s like an AA meeting for recovering sinners. Everyone is so willing to share everything, dark or light. At first I thought it so strange until I see that the process of sharing includes story of God’s redemptive works and healing. When everyone are so open about their imperfections it is easier for us to open up and confess, ask for forgiveness and be open to forgiveness and grace. I appreciate the openness and fellowship. I am grateful for the intelligent and insightful discussion and guidance from my brothers and sisters in faith. Being in these studies allow me to know more about everyone beyond the shiny surface we typically present to others. This level of fellowship and sharing let us grow closer together…

Each of ours contribution is to share, ask questions and be sympathetic ears. Pray together and grow together. I pray the Lord to bless our fellowship and I pray that we will all grow in Christ.

I’m always a believer in small group, for I have personally benefited from it. What I like about it is the varieties of thoughts and inputs from other members on the topic I thought I knew everything that needs to know; but then a comment from someone shows a different perspective that I haven’t considered.
And so I look forward to adding my “two cents” in the discussion as well as gaining insights from other members’ input.

Different people in our small group community will accord each other varying perspectives/angles/insights on any particular issue or topic. A multitude of people also bring different life experiences to enrich our discussions.
A group also provides accountability and encouragement as we help each other to repent and obey the Holy Spirit’s prompting.
I hope to facilitate the discussions and set a tone of transparency and honesty and contribute to the group being a safe place to let our guards down.

Being a part of a rooted team would allow people to have accountability in their walk, have a space to share their personal stories, and be in community.

I hope to contribute my own personal experiences and stories/growth throughout the next ten weeks as I grow closer to God. I think we all bring our own personal experiences that would be nice to hear.

Proverbs 27:17 says “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another”. Community is so important for growth in our walk of faith. There’s so much to learn from one another through the testimonies of God’s handiwork in each person’s lives. I’m excited to be a part of that and learn from my group’s stories. I hope to be as open and honest as I can, and not let fear or self doubt prevent me from doing so. I tend to think “no one wants to hear that.” But I need to remember to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s prompting.

I think being part of a group has enhanced my experience as a Christian, primarily through this devotional challenge. I can have time to devote to Him and grow my faith deeper in Him by posting my answers and seeing other peoples’ perspectives. I would like to contribute to our group dynamic as a disciple-maker. I learned the following things from winter camp. There are four types of people who are spiritually lost, beliber, worker, and disciple-maker. I identify as between a believer and a worker since I came and am following Jesus. I tried to inspire people, for example, by inviting Chole to our devotional challenge. It doesn’t work out this time, but I continue to inspire people so that I can be not only a believer but also a disciple-maker!!

From Niki
Hi ladies! Excited to learn God’s word more deeply through reflections, more about myself and God’s plan for me, and most definitely looking forward to learning from you ladies and seeing how God speaks through your experiences and honest sharing.

I like this from the short reading in “7 Rhythms, one of which is daily devotion which will help you build the habit of being in God’s Word and connecting with Him daily. This will be key as you grow in your relationship with Him and connect more deeply in community when you meet with your group to talk about what you’ve learned each week. You will be surprised what happens when your group gathers and begins to share honestly. As people open up and share personal stories, feelings, and questions, the Holy Spirit moves, and God reveals new truths. This is where transformation happens.”

I will contribute through quoting the reading 😆.
