Church on Sunday provides an opportunity for the saints to be equipped for their mission work through out the week at their job sites.

In today’s reading I started praying more about where God wants me to be in the future. Does he want me to continue doing a job or does he want me to go into ministry? One thing I loved about the reading was that there was an emphasis on the work that is done through the church members. The leaders are only there to equip the members but the members are those who are supposed to be carrying out everyday and creating the real Kingdom impact. I pray for our church that we won’t be so focused on just serving God in our church, but also building His kingdom outside of it. I was also convicted of needing to do a better job at just being more openly Christian and speaking about Christ to my non-Christian friends.
God has assigned us into different marketplace. As Christians we are on a mission every day. Every day we are being placed somewhere with a purpose behind. I’m reminded that Sunday church attended is an opportunity God provided for his saint to be equipped for mission. Most of the time in the week, I seldom reflect back to the words being preached to me. This week I want to be more intentional in seeking God in these opportunities. And watch to see how He has related these words and calling into my daily lives
Todays devotional was cool. Something that stuck out to me was the idea of Christians being in a marketplace. Like the people mentioned in the book today, I’ve been blessed with a personality and mindset that gives me the ability to take on the world.
Im blessed to be given an opportunity where what I love also allows me to share my faith. With passion come hard work. This usually make it easy for me to earn people’s respect. Eventually that leads to conversations about faith. God is often the center of my existence, so its only natural for me to be able to bring him up when Im talking about my life. Lately He’s given me boldness and I try to ask the Holy Spirit to speak when Im ever trying to talk about God.
I’ve recently been given the chance to bring one of my industry friends to serve on a ministry project. I think my prayer now is that I can have a chance to do fellowship and ministry thru that. That time I felt it was cool and kinda fruitful.
I’m nervous to be placed in a diverse workplace but also excited at the same time! I’m not sure how to spark conversations of Jesus… let alone in the workplace, but I pray that the Holy spirit will take over and I can confidently express God’s love. God, thank you for giving me this new opportunity to share the Gospel. May I not be conformed by those around me, but I hope to be a catalyst in bringing those to you. I pray that I am able to stand firm in my faith. I know you have given me this career for a reason and I pray I am able to bring glory to you in the workplace.

“Jesus expects every disciple to make his or her first priority to be involved in the building of God’s kingdom and then to see how God provides for all their other needs.”
I have to say that when I finally put this principle into practice at my workplace, it opened up a whole new world for me. If you think about it, we spend a great majority of our time at work and with our co-workers. Our sphere of influence at the workplace is much greater than we may often realize. I have met and drawn close to people with a wide variety of backgrounds and beliefs- and when I began to realize that God was calling me to join Him in the work that He was already doing in the lives of many of these people, the possibilities became endless. I have been led to share the gospel on several occassions, offering good reason for the hope that they could see in me, and right now I am part of a Bible study that includes one of my previous co-workers as well as a vendor that works with the company I now work for. A few people at work consistently ask me questions about God and the Bible, and I have come to consider my job a place with one of the greatest opportunities for me to bring glory to God.
Lord, we know that You are always at work. Give us hearts that desire to please You and glorify You in all that we do. Help us to see that You have put us where we are, including and especially our workplaces, to serve Your purposes. Open our eyes to see the abundant opportunities all around us to further Your kingdom.
