To be a part of the body means to have Jesus work in ans through you. As we become obedient to Christ we see more of how He guides us and develops us into differing roles that He wants us to grow and thrive in. It’s ok for us to be different. We don’t all need to be called to high school ministry or college group ministry. We don’t all need to be Bible study leaders. All we need to do is follow and be attentive to how God is calling us and He will begin to develop us in differing roles for the church. As we stay faithful to Him, He continues to develop us.
Dear God, I pray that I will continue to be obedient to You in all aspects of my life. May I not look down on others that are serving in different capacities but May I understand that each person has a role in the church that You have placed them there for a reason. Amen.
“For by the grace given to me I say to every one of you not to think more highly of yourself than you ought to think, but to think with sober discernment, as God has distributed to each of you a measure of faith.”
Romans 12:3 NET
I found this verse and this message important because when it comes to pride, I often ignore it without even knowing. Being selfish has many levels and I feel it’s not pointed out enough. But as it’s written in some of the next couple verses, we are one body in Christ, even though may have different gifts. How we use those gifts is important and In the end we should show concern for each other. I found the whole early writings In Romans very meaningful.
I pray as a community, we can work on pride and come to God first always. I thank the lord for bringing me to a great community, and I pray we can continue to spread his word to others.
“Pride causes problems in the body. You should think of yourself with sober judgment, honor others above yourself, live in harmony and associate with people of low position.” I notice I have a lot of pride and hate asking for help even when I know I’m in need of it. I don’t think of myself associating with people of low judgment, but people that have differences than me. God I pray that I set aside my pride and turn towards the people of your church. God help me to see that people may differ than me, but we are focused on you & you alone. You’ve placed people in my life that are here to help me grow & are for me. Thank you for loving me and placing people in my life that will help turn me towards you.

A chruch needs to learn to act as the body of Christ. The Holy Spirit manifests Himself to each member of the body for the common good of the body.
Each person’s experience of the Holy Spirit is for the good of the entire body, not for himself or herself. That is why we need one another. Without a healthy functioning body, a chruch will miss much of what God provides for a church.
Dear Lord, thank you for this Bible study today. Help us to know that a chruch needs to learn to act as the body of Christ. And that each person’s experience of the Holy Spirit is for the good of the entire body, not for himself or herself. That is why we need one another. -Amen
The Holy Spirit manifests Himself to each member of the body for the common good of the body. Although each person’s experience of the Holy Spirit is real and unique, that experience is good for the entire body, rather than for himself or herself. Thus, every member of the church must depend on one another because we are all uniquely gifted with the Holy Spirit’s presence, which helps to maintain a healthy, functioning body. As a result, the body will be able to experience much of what God provides for a church.
