“When you obey Him, you must allow Him to do what He has said. He is the One who accomplished the assignment, but He does it through you.” today i’m reminded of the importance of obedience to God’s invitation, especially when it seems like it’s out of my power or capabilities, because it should be. i tend to limit what God can do through me because i impose my own personal limitations on myself, not allowing God to work through me in ways that only He can, which is what truly brings Him glory and draws people in. God, I confess my disbelief at times that i don’t allow You to do what You intend to through me because of my own doubts and fear of failure. i want You to reign through my surrender that people may see works that only You can accomplish
“Pride may cause you to want to recount your experience because it makes you feel special.”
And as (1 Cor. 1:31) states, “Let him who boasts boast in the Lord.”
I am reminded by this study today to remain thankful to the Lord and to remove pride as all glory belongs to Him.
I pray that when God-sized work happens in my life I can help show others the Lord and his goodness. I pray for the strength to share his word so others can see the joyous fellowship, all while being able to give glory all to God.
In today’s reading, it gave a very well explained reference of how obedience to God helps us to encounter and experience Him more. I think there’s a lot of truth to that. Obeying God definitely stretches us but it’s worthwhile to see how God moves. Additionally, I love the end of the passage of how it talks about how we need to make sure all of what we do gives glory to God. I think a lot of times we lose focus of that when God does something great. Kinda like how Moses has. Dear God, keep me humble. When you move in mighty ways, it is not because of anything I did but it is all because of you. May I remember that and show that in my words and deeds. Amen.
The most meaningful Scripture that I read today was “Let him who boasts boast in the Lord” (1 Cor. 1:31). We often view boasting as a self-centered and ungodly act. However, you can still boast in a God-centered way by recounting all of the marvelous works and countless blessings that the Lord has provided for us. Nonetheless, we must refrain from acting upon any feeling of pride when we want to declare the wonderful deeds of the Lord.
