One thing that stood out to me is this quote: “We assume we have to accomplish the assignment in our own strength and with our own current resources. We think, I can’t do that. That is impossible”. Self centeredness is my problem. I always think whenever God’s calling me to do something: is this gonna waste my time and energy. But God is the source of my energy and I can do all things through Christ if I put my faith in him. It’s not me that do the work but it’s God that’s doing the work. So I have to rely on Him and put faith in Jesus.
God, I pray that you would change my heart and that I can rely and put faith in you everyday
“Faith must be in a Person – God Himself.” Many times I get distracted and rest my faith on a situation rather than God Himself without realizing it. I was reminded today that placing hope in a situation to pass or for a situation to change is not putting hope in God Himself. Putting my faith in God alone would be trusting in God despite the outcome & trusting that whatever He wills, will be. Without faith, we will stumble & fall but with just a small mustard seed size faith, God can transform us. God I pray that I will daily remind myself of what my hope and faith is put in. May I be reminded to have faith You and not anything or anyone else. I pray the disciples’ prayer to “increase my faith.”
Today’s reading showed me how important faith is. For we are lead by faith and not by sight. I’m the kind of person that likes to live in the present and in the moment until I get stressed and my future is all I think about. Today’s reading was helpful because when the person was talking about the church and how they didn’t have a plan but they had faith God would work to help them. Not only that but also when the pastor said he didn’t need anymore money because he felt like he was doing the Lord’s work and he was willing to take that step of faith and God ended up providing.
Dear God let put faith in you especially in my future when I don’t see a great outcome I pray I just cling to you and trust you.

The most meaningful statement today was when God speaks, our response requires faith. Faith must be in a person. What we believe about God will determine what we do next.
Dear Lord, thank you for this bible study today and I hope you would help us understand that faith has to be in us and in our response to you. Help us know that sight is the opposite of faith. -Amen
Something that stood out to me in today’s reading is that when God speak to us, it reveals something he going to do and not something He want us to do for Him. Often times, we get discouraged because we realize our strength is lacking to combat agains the world and to live up to God’s calling. We often forget that when God want to do something through us, victory is always the ultimate result. He provide resources to fill full that purpose. The story of the faithful couple demonstrate that obeisance to God is rewarding. For 14 years they work diligently to strengthen God’s church. To others, it seems that they have sacrificed so much of their personal life. However, the truth is that God is the one behind the wheel, God is the one who made all the sacrifices and He is also the one who blessed those who trust in His way.
