Read: Genesis 1:26–27 (NIV84)
26Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” 27So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
Read: Psalm 8 (NIV84)
1O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens. 2From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise because of your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger. 3When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, 4what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him? 5You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor. 6You made him ruler over the works of your hands; you put everything under his feet: 7all flocks and herds, and the beasts of the field, 8the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas. 9O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
To say that we are made in God’s “image” is a statement so familiar it has almost lost its startling power. We tend to think of it as a vague compliment, as though the Creator, in a moment of fondness, decided to fashion a race of miniature, less-impressive versions of Himself. But the truth is something far more active and profound. The ancient mind would have grasped two metaphors immediately: the statue and the mirror.
In the ancient world, a king would place a statue of himself in a distant province to declare his authority. The statue was not the king, but it was a tangible symbol of his rule, his presence, and his will. This is the first meaning of the image. God, the Great King, has not placed stone statues in His creation, but living, breathing, walking ones: us. We are called to be His vice-regents, exercising His authority by ruling over creation as He would—bringing order from chaos, cultivating potential, and caring for His world. We are not merely clever animals; we are ambassadors tasked with representing the King’s benevolent reign in every corner of His domain.
Furthermore, we are like a mirror. A mirror does not contain a painting of the sun; it catches the sun’s light and reflects it. To do so, it must be angled correctly, turned toward the source of the light. The Imago Dei, then, is not primarily a list of qualities we possess—like reason or creativity—but a reflection of God’s attributes for which we were designed. Our very being is created to be in relationship with God, to face Him, and in so doing, to reflect His character back into the world. It is not that we have a relationship with God, but that our existence is, at its core, intended to be this relationship. We are mirrors, and we only function as intended when we are turned toward the Son.
Reflect, Share & Prayer: In what specific area of your life—your work, your family, your community—can you more intentionally act as God’s representative this week, reflecting His character and carrying out His caring rule? Ask God to show you what this looks like in a practical way.

Between work, family, and friends I feel I can definitely reveal my story more. All that God has done for me and even before I knew him is a way to show his love to others. Even if I don’t have the Hollywood like story or testimony, you never know who can resonate with your trials and reconciliation.
I pray that God show me a way in which I can do this actively without breaking any work life rules or regulations. A way where I can fit my story in respectfully to non believers

At the risk of some redundancy, I would have to say that the area of my life where I can more intentionally act as God’s representative, reflecting His character and carrying out His caring rule would have to be at home, with my kids. As I mentioned in past reflections, I’m fully aware that as their earthly father, I play a significant role in their earliest conceptions and understanding of our heavenly Father, so here is where it is most important for me to reflect God rightly and well😏 As our devotional pointed out, in order to reflect His glory well, we must first behold it- so I know that the foundational basis for this proper reflection is gazing upon Him through the Word, prayer, fellowship, being of service, and loving people. This then ultimately manifests into a progressively greater tendency to reflect God’s glory in all areas of our lives- and this has certainly been my experience 🙂
Father, I pray that we would continue to seek Your face, that we may behold Your glory, and thereby be a true reflection of Your character and care well for the people in our lives and the world in which You’ve placed us.

This week particularly my full focus is being there for my aunt & her direct family as her last days. 🙏🏻🙏🏻😭😭🫶🏻🫶🏻
Dear Lord, heavenly father, I pray that you fill me with your Holy Spirit. Lord, I know nothing in the medical field. But I pray that you guide me to make the right choices and place the right people in my life that can help me make the correct decision for my aunt as she is coming up to the end of her days. Lord, I pray for a miracle that she could wake up to be able to say goodbye to her daughter and her husband, Lord. Me, you surround her and her family with loving nurses and doctors to give her the best care. I pray that you fill me with your Holy Spirit with love and compassion so that I can spread it to my family and aunt during this difficult time. In Jesus name I pray amen.
This week, I can represent God in my friendship. I pray to be able to show His unconditional love. The kind of love that embraces us even in our sin. At the same time, I want to gently reflect His truth, pointing toward His better way. I’m asking God to help me live out both love and truth, so they can see be reminded of His heart through me.
Lord, thank You for loving me even in my sin. Help me to reflect Your heart to my friends with unconditional love and with the courage to share what is right. Give me wisdom, gentleness, and grace so that my words and actions point them to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
I will work on showing more love to the people around me and people that I see/meet through the week and day. I have my problems and I tend to just focus on myself or be “cold” to others but God teaches us to love everyone and be nice. And I know people have their own battles they do not share as well.
I pray that God continue to uses me to share love and kindness to others.

I admit that I’ve heard the phrase “we are created in God’s image” many times and more and more I feel like I glide over the true meaning and power of that statement. Not only is it an honor to be created in God’s image, but it is also a responsibility that we hold. I like what Thao said about how what we do represents and reflects how others view God. I would like to work on my generosity with others. I would like to be more generous with my time, money, intentionality. I know that in order to do this, I need to instill on the power of God to give me the strength and capacity. Thank you God for making us in your image and trusting us to represent you and rule over what you created.
God, I’m speechlessly startled by being created in your image. Today when I was playing with my kids and I looked at them, I realize how amazing it is for my body to be shaped like this, which is in God’s image! My body is a wonder but my soul is broken. God, help me cultivate my soul so that I’m able to love one another and bear spiritual fruits. Help me to act practically when it comes to parenting. I feel needing a lot of wisdom and patience for my children. I have too little strength to complete the parenting job. Help me to understand my children, empathize with them. Help me to always demonstrate patience with my children as they grow up and may become more challenging at each stage.
